KHP Accident

 

AN OBERLIN MAN WAS INJURED IN A ONE-VEHICLE ACCIDENT OVER THE WEEKEND IN THOMAS COUNTY.  A 2000 FREIGHTLINER SEMI, DRIVEN BY TERRY URBAN ON OBERLIN WAS SOUTHBOUND ON HIGHWAY K-25 SOUTH OF COLBY.  THE SEMI LEFT THE ROADWAY ON THE RIGHT SIDE AND ENTERED THE DITCH.  URBAN OVERCORRECTED AND THE SEMI ROLLED ONTO ITS RIGHT SIDE IN THE DITCH.  THE ACCIDENT OCCURRED AT 8:30 SATURDAY MORNING 16 MILES SOUTH OF COLBY ON K-25 HIGHWAY, ACCORDING TO THE KANSAS HIGHWAY PATROL.  URBAN WAS TAKEN TO THE LOGAN COUNTY HOSPITAL FOR TREATMENT OF POSSIBLE INJURIES.  URBAN WAS WEARING HIS SEAT BELT AT THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT, ACCORDING TO THE REPORT.
