KDOT SURVEY BEGINS

KDOT SURVEY  2/21/11  DW

Beginning tomorrow and continuing through Thursday, a representative with TranSystems of Kansas City will be obtaining data along US-36 Highway east of Norton for a traffic impact study associated with the development of the Ag Valley grain expansion project.  The traffic study is intended to gather information that is necessary to determine the impact that truck traffic, generated by the project, will have on surrounding roads and US-36 Highway.  The proposed Ag Valley grain storage and rail loading facility will be located near County Roads E1, E2, and L east of Norton.  Traffic study activities will include the placement of traffic counter tubes over the adjacent county roads and US-36 Highway. Visual traffic counts, as well as measurements and photos of the area, will also be taken.  Traffic should not be impacted throughout the course of the study.    Jake Good, Engineering Technician with TranSystems, will be in charge of the data collection for the traffic study.
