Superintendent Mann Award

Norton Community School Superintendent Greg Mann has been named the Kansas School Superintendents’ Association (KSSA) 2011 Distinguished Service Award recipient. Mann was recognized by fellow superintendents during the recent Council of Superintendents meeting at the State Department of Education in Topeka on February 23rd.  Each year, KSSA recognizes a superintendent for outstanding contributions and exemplary leadership – in the organization and to the profession. Superintendents submit nominations for consideration by the panel of peers. Superintendent Mann is actively engaged in KSSA and United School Administrators of Kansas. Currently, he serves on the KSSA Board of Directors and the Council of Superintendents.  Mann has been an integral part of a leadership team charged with reorganizing the superintendent’s organization. As a member of the Council of Superintendents, he works with colleagues from across the state and leadership at the Kansas State Department of Education regarding current and emerging issues, offering feedback on the development of initiatives and strategies to improve student learning. As an educational and community leader, Superintendent Mann is a strong advocate for public education. Mann emphasizes the importance of engaging the public to impact education policies, building support and trust in the local community and, most importantly, promoting agendas that put children first
