An Almena man will be spending time with the Department of Corrections for charges in Norton County District Court. Brian Spooner has been charged with one count of felony theft, in connection with an alleged February 28th incident in which a vehicle belonging to William Alexander was taken from Almena. Spooner pled guilty. He was also sentenced for three worthless checks. Spooner was sentenced to 8 months with the Department of Corrections and remanded into their custody. He is ordered to 12 months of post release probation. Spooner was also sentenced to 12 months in the county jail for the worthless checks. He was ordered to pay two booking fees of 45 dollars each, court costs of 190.50 and 155.50. A restitution hearing is set for July 11th for the felony theft charge. He was also ordered to pay restitution to Pamida and Taco Bell for the worthless check charges, according to Norton County Attorney Doug Sebelius.
