Escapee caught

 

Kansas officials, working in conjunction with Missouri authorities, confirmed apprehension of escapee Christopher John Anderson as of 6:15 a.m. June 7, 2011.Through the assistance of the City of Butler, Missouri Police Department and the Missouri State Patrol, the Bates County, Missouri Sheriff’s Department advised Kansas Department of Corrections officials on June 6, 2011 that they had positively identified escapee Anderson and were in pursuit of the individual.

Following apprehension, Anderson is currently housed in the Bates County Detention Center. Anderson will be returned to the custody of KDOC in the near future where he will face charges of aggravated escape from custody, burglary and theft.

Anderson had escaped from minimum custody at the Norton Correctional Facility-East Unit which is located in Stockton, Kansas.

The Kansas Department of Corrections thanks the Kansas and Missouri authorities and the public for their watchfulness and cooperation following Anderson’s escape.
