Norton County Commissioners minutes

THE MOWING OF THE MOUNT CALVARY CEMETERY AND A FUNDING REQUEST WERE ITEMS FOR THE NORTON COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AT THEIR MONTH END MEETING LAST WEEK.   KENNETH REIMANN, A RURAL DENSMORE RESIDENT DISCUSSED A LETTER HE RECEIVED ON THE MOWING OF THE MOUNT CALVARY CEMETERY IN THE WEST UNION TOWNSHIP.  THE SOLOMON TOWNSHIP TRUSTEES HAVE SENT A LETTER TO FAMILY MEMBERS STATED THAT THE FUTURE MOWING OF THE CEMETERY WILL BE UP TO THEM.  THE COMMISSION DISCUSSED THE SITUATION WITH THE COUNTY ATTORNEY WHO STATED THAT HE WAS NOT SURE IF THE CEMETERY IS PART OF THE CATHOLIC DIOCESE.  THE COMMISSION WILL LOOK INTO THE MATTER AND REPORT BACK.  GINA FRACK FROM THE NORTON COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT PRESENTED A FUNDING REQUEST FROM THE NORTHWEST KANSAS AREA AGENCY ON AGAIN.  THE FUNDING REQUEST IS FOR 45 HUNDRED DOLLARS, WHICH WOULD ASSIST WITH NUTRITION SITES, IN HOME SERVICES, LIFELINES, RESPITE CARE MEDICARE PART D COUNSELING AND MORE.  THE COMMISSION APPROVED THE REQUEST.  THE COMMISSION ALSO SIGNED THE COMMUNITY HEALTH ASSESSMENT GRANT TO THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF COUNTIES THAT FRACK IS SUBMITTING.  THE MONTHLY SALES TAX REPORT WAS PRESENTED.  THE COMMISSION THEN ADJOURNED LAST TUESDAY.
