WITH THE CURRENT COMMODITY MARKETS AT HIGH PRICE LEVELS, IT’S IMPERATIVE THAT THE SOIL FOR GRAIN PRODUCTION BE MAINTAINED.  SOIL HEALTH AND WEALTH WILL BE HELD TOMORROW AT 9:30 AT THE FAIRGROUNDS IN NORTON.  DISCUSSION WILl INCLUDE MANAGEING SOIL FERTILITY USING COVER CROPS, CROP ROTATIONS, TRANSITIONING TO ORGANIC CROP PRODUCTION AND MARKETING ORGANICALLY GROWN CROPS.  PRESENTATIONS WILL BE GIVEN BY K-STATE SOIL AND WATER CONSERVATION SPECIALIST DEANN PRESLEY, GENERAL MANAGER FOR THE KANSAS ORGANIC PRODUCERS ASSOCIATION ED REZNICEK, OWNER OF ROBERTS SEED JOG ROBERTS.  THE AFTERNOON WILL INCLUDE FARM TOURS OF THE DOYLE BROWN, JIM ROWH AND BRYCE STEVENS OPERATIONS.  BRING A SHOVEL SINCE PARTICIPANTS WILL BE IN THE FIELD.  LUNCH WILL BE CATERED BY PURE PRAIRIE NATURAL FOODS AND THERE IS A TEN DOLLAR CHARGE.  FOR MORE INFORMATION, R.S.V.P.
