the Kansas Department of Transportation is starting a bridge repair job on US-36 Highway in Phillips County beginning next week. The bridge over Spring Creek is located 1.5 miles east of the East US-183 Junction in Phillipsburg. During Construction, traffic will be reduced to one lane and controlled by temporary traffic signals. KDOT awarded the construction contract of approximately $135,669 to King Construction Company, of Hesston, along with Subcontractors APAC Kansas, Inc. – Shears Division, of Hays, J & J Contractors, Inc., of Iola,; Klaver Construction Co., Inc., Kingman; Smoky Valley Electrical Contractors, Inc., Gypsum All Roads Barricade, Inc., of Lincoln, Nebraska. The bridge repair project is funded by T-WORKS, the transportation program.
Weather permitting, the bridge repair will be finished in late October.
