Attorneys in the case of S tathis Kirkpatrick held a telephone conference with the judge last week in Red Willow District Court. 18 YEAR OLD KIRKPATRICK OF BARTLEY NEBRASKA HAS BEEN CHARGED WITH murder in the first degree, use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony, tampering with physical evidence and unlawful burial. those charges are in connection with the death of 14-YEAR-OLD Kailee Clapp of McCook JANUARY 21ST of 2010. At his motions hearing the court found Kirkpatrick mentally incompetent to stand trial. There is substantial probability that he will become competent within the FORESEEABLE future. Kirkpatrick was ordered committed to the Lincoln Regional Center for treatment. During the conference call, attorneys are asking for a determination if Kirkpatrick is COMPETENT. Defense motions are due in court by one March 4th with another scheduling conference set for March 5th to set a date to hear motions, according to the Red Willow District Court.
