Brown Accident

AN ALMENA MAN WAS INJURED IN A TWO-VEHICLE ACCIDENT YESTERDAY  ON THE EAST EDGE OF NORTON.  A 1999 DODGE PICK-UP, DRIVEN BY STEVEN BROWN OF ALMENA WAS ATTEMPTING A LEFT HAND TURN FROM A PRIVATE DRIVE ON U.S. HIGHWAY 36.  A 2003 INTERNATIONAL SEMI, DRIVEN BY DENNIS REICKS OF KEARNEY WAS EASTBOUND ON HIGHWAY 36.  THE SEMI STRUCK THE PICK-UP ON THE DRIVER’S SIDE.  BOTH CAME TO REST IN THE NORTH DITCH.  BROWN WAS TAKEN TO THE NORTON COUNTY HOSPITAL WHERE HE WAS TREATED FOR MINOR INJURIES AND RELEASED, ACCORDING TO HOSPITAL OFFICIALS.  REICKS REFUSED TREATMENT.  THE ACCIDENT OCCURRED YESTERDAY MORNING AT 11:24 ON THE EAST EDGE OF NORTON, ACCORDING TO THE KANSAS HIGHWAY PATROL.  BOTH DRIVERS WERE WEARING THEIR SEAT BELTS, ACCORDING TO THE REPORT.
