Fort Hays Arrest

 

FORT HAYS UNIVERSITY POLICE  AND THE HAYS POLICE DEPARTMENT ARRESTED A FORT HAYS STUDENT IN CONNECTION WITH AN INCIDENT AT THE UNIVERSITY YESTERDAY.  24 YEAR OLD JACOB PAUL FLAX A STUDENT AT FORT HAYS, WAS ARRESTED BY FORT HAYS POLICE AN CHARGED WITH SEVEN COUNTS OF MISDEMEANOR BATTERY, TWO COUNTS OF BATTERY ON A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER AND ONE COUNT OF OBSTRUCTION OF JUSTICE.  THERE WERE NINE VICTIMS INVOLVED IN THE PHYSICAL ALTERCATION THAT OCCURRED AT 9:30 YESTERDAY MORNING IN RARICK HALL ON THE CAMPUS.  THE ALTERCATION WAS PHYSICAL IN NATURE BUT NO WEAPONS WERE INVOLVED AND NO VICTIMS REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION.   THE ARRESTING AND OR CHARGING OF AN INDIVIDUAL IS MERELY AN ALLEGATION OF CRIMINAL WRONGDOING.  ALL CRIMINAL DEFENDANTS ARE PRESUMED INNOCENT UNLESS AND UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY IN A COURT OF LAW.
