Sheriff’s office investigates Accident

A NORTON MAN WAS SLIGHTLY INJURED IN A ONE-VEHICLE ACCIDENT MONDAY ON THE EAST EDGE OF NORTON.  A 2002 DODGE PICK-UP DRIVEN BY DEREK PFANNENSTIEL, WAS TURNING INTO THE NEW AGE PARKING LOT.  PFANNENSTIEL STATED HE DROPPED HIS COFFEE.  AS HE WAS REACHING FOR IT, HE TURNED TOO SHARP AND THE PICK-UP RAN OFF INTO THE DITCH, HITTING THE CULVERT.  THAT IMPACT CAUSED DAMAGE TO THE PICK-UP AND PFANNENSTIEL HIT HIS HEAD ON THE WINDSHIELD.  HE WAS TAKEN BY PRIVATE VEHICLE TO THE NORTON MEDICAL CLINIC.  THE ACCIDENT OCCURRED AT 9:46 MONDAY MORNING AT THE DRIVEWAY INTO NEW AGE, ACCORDING TO THE NORTON COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE REPORT.  IT IS UNKNOWN IF HE WAS WEARING A SEAT BELT.
