Burn Ban Lifted for Norton County

AT THE NORTON COUNTY COMMISSIONERS MEETING LAST WEEK, THE COMMISSION STATED THEY WOULD LOOK AT THE IDEA OF LIFTING THE BURN BAN THAT WAS PUT IN PLACE LAST MONTH AT THEIR MEETING YESTERDAY.  IMMEDIATELY EFFECTIVE, THE BURN BAN IMPLEMENTED ON MARCH 12 IS LIFTED FOR NORTON COUNTY PER UNANIMOUS AGREEMENT OF THE NORTON COUNTY COMMISSIONERS.  PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT IF WEATHER OR ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS WARRANT THE NORTON COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WILL REVISIT THE POSSIBILITY OF REINSTATING OR IMPLEMENTING ANOTHER BURN BAN. ALL PERSONS WANTING TO BURN ARE ENCOURAGED TO FIRST CONTACT THE LOCAL/DISTRICT FIRE CHIEF IN THEIR COMMUNITY. IT IS BETTER TO BE AWARE OF WHEN AND WHERE A BURN IS SCHEDULED THAN FOR IT TO BE TOO LATE.  THE BURN BAN FOR NORTON COUNTY HAS NOW BEEN LIFTED.
