Norton County Arts Council Future

THE NORTON COUNTY ARTS COUNCIL HELD THEIR ANNUAL MEETING ON APRIL THIRD. THE FUTURE OF THE ARTS COUNCIL WAS DISCUSSED EXTENSIVELY. THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS HAS DETERMINED THAT A PUBLIC MEETING WILL BE HELD TONIGHT AT SEVEN IN THE NORTON PUBLIC LIBRARY COMMUNITY ROOM TO GET INPUT AS TO WHETHER THE ARTS COUNCIL SHOULD CONTINUE. THE ARTS COUNCIL HAS BEEN IN EXISTENCE SINCE 1974, AND IN RECENT YEARS HAS FACED DECLINING ATTENDANCE AND AN INCREASING CONCERN IN FILLING VACANT BOARD POSITIONS. AS A RESULT, THE PREVAILING FACTS THAT NEED TO BE CONSIDERED ARE WHETHER OR NOT THERE IS SUFFICIENT PUBLIC INTEREST IN CONTINUING THE COUNCIL PROGRAMS. IF INTEREST IS FAVORABLE, VOLUNTEERS WILL BE NEEDED TO SERVE ON THE BOARD. BRING YOUR IDEAS AND OPINIONS TO THE MEETING TONIGHT AT SEVEN ON THE FUTURE OF THE NORTON COUNTY ARTS COUNCIL IN THE LIBRARY COMMUNITY ROOM.
