Graham County Accident

FOUR PEOPLE WERE SERIOUSLY INJURED IN A TWO VEHICLE ACCIDENT MONDAY AFTERNOON IN GRAHAM COUNTY.  A 2007 DODGE DAKOTA DRIVEN BY KEVIN HAZLETT OF COLBY WAS WESTBOUND ON HIGHWAY 24 WEST OF HILL CITY.  A 2006 CHEVY SILVERADO, DRIVEN BY ADRIANNA NICKELSON OF PENOKEE WAS EASTBOUND.  HAZLETT WENT LEFT OF CENTER AND STRUCK THE CHEVY HEAD ON.  HAZLETT AND HIS PASSENGER MATTHEW CUNNINGHAM WERE TRANSFERRED TO WESLEY MEDICAL CENTER IN WICHITA.  NICKELSON AND HER PASSENGER STEVEN NICKELSON WERE TAKEN TO ST. FRANCIS HOSPITAL IN WICHITA.  ALL WERE WEARING THEIR SEAT BELTS EXCEPT ADRIANNA, ACCORDING TO THE KANSAS HIGHWAY PATROL REPORT.  THE ACCIDENT OCCURRED AT 6:50 MONDAY NIGHT THREE MILES WEST OF THE U.S. 24 AND 283 JUNCTION IN HILL CITY.  BOTH VEHICLES CAME TO REST ON THE ROADWAY.
