Norton County Hospital Board Notes

AN ADJUSTMENT FROM THE CLINIC RENOVATION AND THE UPPER LEVEL PLANNING WERE ITEMS FOR THE NORTON COUNTY HOSPITAL BOARD OF TRUSTEES AT THEIR MAY MEETING.  THE CLINIC ADDITION PROJECT CAME IN UNDER THE GUARANTEE THAT WAS LOANED FROM THE USDA.  THE HOSPITAL HAS TO PAY BACK 180,119 DOLLARS.  THAT MONEY WILL BE ADJUSTED AT THE END OF THE LOAN AND THE LOAN AMOUNT WILL THEN BE LOWERED AT THAT TIME.  THE PAYMENTS WILL STILL REMAIN THE SAME.  ALSO, THE MURRAY COMPANY AND HEALTH FACILITIES GROUP ARE WORKING TOGETHER ON THE UPPER LEVEL RENOVATION.  THE MURRAY COMPANY WAS ASKED TO ASSIST SO FIGURES COULD BE BETTER GUESSTIMATED FOR THE PROJECT.  THEY WILL BE PREPARING SOME BALL PARK FIGURES FOR THREE DIFFERENT OPTIONS FOR THE UPPER LEVEL AND FOR THE RENOVATION OF THE SURGERY SUITE.  THE COLBY COMMUNITY COLLEGE NURSING CLASSES PLAN TO BE MOVING THIS WEEK TO THEIR NEW BUILDING.  THE FINAL INSPECTION WAS TO BE HELD EARLIER THIS WEEK AT COLBY COMMUNITY COLLEGE NORTON CAMPUS.  THE BOARD APPROVED THE PURCHASE OF THE CENTRIQ MIGRATION SYSTEM.  THIS WILL HELP THE TRANSITION WITH THE HEARTLAND EQUIPMENT TO TRANSFER TO ALL ELECTRONIC HEALTH RECORDS FOR BOTH FINANCIAL AND CLINICAL.  THE COST WILL BE 437,952.  THE NEW NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR WAS INTRODUCED.  HE IS JEFF NUHFER AND HE WILL BE WORKING CLOSELY WITH PAM CUTHBERTSON ON THE INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY FOR THE HOSPITAL.  THE STATE FIRE MARSHALL DID A TOUR OF THE FACILITIES AND FOUND TWO DEFICIENCIES THAT WERE CORRECTED.  THE QUALITY IMPROVEMENT SUMMARIES FOR THE MEDICAL CLINIC, QUALITY ASSURANCE/RISK MANAGEMENT/EDUCATION, INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY, PHYSICAL THERAPY, PURCHASING, NURSING AND CARDIAC REHAB WERE REVIEWED.  THE CONFIDENTIAL RISK MANAGEMENT REPORT FOR THE FIRST QUARTER OF 2012 WAS APPROVED AFTER REVIEW IN EXECUTIVE SESSION.  THE NEW CHEMISTRY ANALYZER SHOULD BE INSTALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF JUNE.  THE BILLS WERE APPROVED AND THE FINANCIAL STATEMENTS REVIEWED.  THE WRITTEN OFF ACCOUNTS IN THE AMOUNT OF 61,471.58 WERE APPROVED TO BE SENT TO THE COLLECTION AGENCY AND WRITTEN OFF THE BOOKS.  THE PERSONNEL MATTERS WERE UPDATED AND THE PATIENT SURVEY SUMMARIES PRESENTED.  THE NEXT MEETING OF THE NORTON COUNTY HOSPITAL BOARD OF TRUSTEES WILL BE WEDNESDAY JUNE 20TH AT 6:30 IN THE BOARD ROOM OF THE HOSPITAL.  ALL MEETINGS ARE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.
