KDOT Meeting

THE KANSAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION WILL HOST A KICKOFF MEETING TO DISCUSS THE FUTURE RECONSTRUCTION OF K-383 HIGHWAY IN NORTON AND PHILLIPS COUNTIES. THE PUBLIC IS INVITED TO THE OPEN HOUSE MEETING ON WEDNESDAY JUNE 13TH FROM FIVE TILL SEVEN AT THE ALMENA COMMUNITY BUILDING. KDOT SURVEYORS, ENGINEERS, AND PUBLIC INVOLVEMENT PERSONNEL WILL OUTLINE THE PROPOSED PHASING, TIMELINE, AND BUDGET FOR THE K-383 MODERNIZATION PROJECT. THE 26-MILE PROJECT WILL BE FUNDED BY T-WORKS, THE TRANSPORTATION PROGRAM PASSED BY THE KANSAS LEGISLATURE IN MAY OF 2010. THE PROJECTED TIMELINE TO RE-CONSTRUCT THE CORRIDOR MAY BEGIN AS EARLY AS 2018. THE MEETING WILL HAVE AN INFORMAL FORMAT WITH TIME FOR QUESTIONS. THE PUBLIC MAY COME AND GO AS THEY PLEASE. A MEETING FOR PUBLIC OFFICIALS HAS BEEN SCHEDULED PRIOR TO THE PUBLIC OPEN HOUSE. THOSE UNABLE TO ATTEND THE OPEN HOUSE CAN CONTACT KDOT’S DISTRICT THREE OFFICE IN NORTON FOR COPIES OF TAKE-HOME MATERIALS, WHICH WILL BE AVAILABLE AFTER THE MEETING. COMMENTS ARE WELCOME ANY TIME AND ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE PUBLIC INFORMATION OPEN HOUSE. THE OPEN HOUSE LOCATION IS ADA ACCESSIBLE.
