ENFIELD RESTAURANTS LLC ANNOUNCE THAT NORTON WILL SOON HAVE A NEW DAIRY QUEEN RESTAURANT WITH A DIFFERENT TWIST. THE DAIRY QUEEN HAS BEEN A LOCALLY OWNED FRANCHISE SINCE IT WAS OPENED ON FEBRUARY 14, 1965. NORTONITES LARRY ENFIELD, SR., AND JODY AND JESSICA ENFIELD, WILL CONTINUE THIS TRADITION. THE DQ GRILL & CHILL WILL BE OPEN IN LATE 2012, HOWEVER THE CONSTRUCTION DEMOLITION BEGAN ON WEDNESDAY. THE OLD BUILDING WILL BE REPLACED WITH A NEW FRANCHISE MODEL THAT INCLUDES A STREAMLINED DRIVE-THRU, AND A COMFORTABLE SEATING AREA IN TODAY’S CONTEMPORARY STYLE. THE NEW EFFICIENT KITCHEN WILL ALLOW FAST AND FRIENDLY CUSTOMER SERVICE.
NEW TO NORTON, AN ORANGE JULIUS FRANCHISE WILL ALSO BE INCLUDED IN THE NEW RESTAURANT. ORANGE JULIUS WAS STARTED IN 1926 BY JULIUS FREED. INTERNATIONAL DAIRY QUEEN PURCHASED THE ORANGE JULIUS COMPANY IN 1987, AND HAS RECENTLY STARTED INCLUDING THEM IN THEIR STORES.
