Norton County Commissioners Minutes

THE PROBLEMS WITH THE STATE SOFTWARE PROGRAM AND THE FAMILY PLANNING WERE ITEMS FOR THE NORTON COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AT THEIR MONTH END MEETING ON JUNE 29TH.  COUNTY TREASURER CINDY LINNER PRESENTED THE JULY SALES TAX COLLECTION.  SHE ALSO ADDRESSED THE CONTINUED PROBLEMS WITH THE NEW STATE SOFTWARE PROGRAM. EVERY DAY THE SYSTEM GOES DOWN FOR A PERIOD OF TIME IN THE AFTERNOON, WHICH PREVENTS THE OFFICE FROM COMPLETING TRANSACTIONS.  SHE ALSO REPORTED THAT FOR THE YEAR TO DATE, SALES TAX COLLECTION IS APPROXIMATELY 15 THOUSAND DOLLARS HIGHER.  GINA FRACK FROM THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT ADDRESSED THE CONTINUATION OF THE FAMILY PLANNING PROGRAM.  THEIR FAMILY PLANNER IS LEAVING THE COMMUNITY AND WILL LEAVE THE POSITION OPEN.  FRACK STATED THAT IN ORDER TO FILL THE POSITION AND TO CONTINUE THE PROGRAM, ADDITIONAL EXPENSE WOULD BE REQUIRED.  THE COMMISSION FELT THE DECISION SHOULD GO BEFORE THE ADVISORY BOARD.  SOLID WASTE SUPERVISOR CURT ARCHIBALD UPDATED ON THE SMALL FIRE FROM THAT WEEK.  WHAT SAVED THEM WAS THE TOP COAT THAT WAS ON TOP OF THE TRASH, WHICH IS FIRE RETARDANT AND KEPT THE FIRE FROM SPREADING.  THE STATE INSPECTION WAS RECENTLY HELD AT THE LANDFILL.   THE LANDFILL RECEIVED A GOOD REPORT AND THE INSPECTION WENT WELL.  THE COMMISSION ALSO ADDRESSED THE BURN BAN THAT IS IN PLACE IN NORTON COUNTY ON THE 29TH.  THERE BEING NO FURTHER BUSINESS, THE COMMISSION ADJOURNED ON FRIDAY JUNE 29TH.  THESE MINUTES ARE NOT OFFICIAL UNTIL SIGNED AND APPROVED BY THE NORTON COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AT THEIR NEXT REGULAR MEETING TODAY.  ALL MEETINGS ARE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.
