Commissioners Notes

THE BUDGET WAS THE AGENDA ITEM FOR THE NORTON COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AT THEIR MEETING MONDAY.  EACH OF THE DEPARTMENT HEADS PRESENTED THEIR BUDGET REQUESTS FOR 2013.  THE COMMISSIONERS WORKED TO MAKE THE BUDGET WORK WITHOUT AN INCREASE IN THE MILL LEVY.  THE VALUATION FOR NORTON COUNTY WENT UP FROM LAST YEAR, RESULTING IN EACH MILL BEING WORTH MORE MONEY.  AFTER THE MORNING WORK SESSION WITH AUDITOR JOHN MAPES, THE COMMISSION PRESENTED A BUDGET THAT INCREASED THE MILL LEVY BY THREE-FOURTHS OF A MILL.  THE NEXT REGULAR MEETING OF THE NORTON COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COMES UP ON MONDAY.  ALL MEETINGS ARE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.
