A NORCATUR MAN WILL BEGIN SERVING HIS PRISON TERM NEXT MONTH FROM CHARGES IN NORTON COUNTY DISTRICT COURT. IN A PLEA AGREEMENT, DENNIS WOOD PLED GUILTY TO ONE COUNT OF FELONY POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA, SECOND OFFENSE D.U.I. AND NO PARK OR RECREATION MOTOR VEHICLE PERMIT. THE OTHER CHARGES WERE DISMISSED. WOOD WAS SENTENCED TO 20 MONTHS WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS WITH 12 MONTHS OF POST RELEASE SUPERVISION FOR THE MARIJUANA CHARGE. HE WAS SENTENCED TO 12 MONTHS IN THE COUNTY JAIL ON THE DUI CHARGE AND 30 DAYS FOR THE NO PARK PERMIT, TO BOTH BE SERVED CONCURRENTLY WITH HIS D.O.C. SENTENCE. HE WAS FINED 1000 DOLLARS FOR THE DUI AND 50 FOR THE PERMIT CHARGE. WOOD WAS ASSESSED COURT COSTS OF 195, 100-DOLLAR BIDS APPLICATION FEE, BOOKING FEE OF 45 AND WITNESS FEES OF 22.75. HE WILL START HIS PRISON SENTENCE ON SEPTEMBER 10TH, ACCORDING TO COUNTY ATTORNEY DOUG SEBELIUS.
