A NORTON MAN ESCAPED INJURY IN A COW-VEHICLE ACCIDENT WEST OF NORTON WEDNESDAY NIGHT.  A 1994 BUICK SKYLARK, DRIVEN BY ROBERT DERAUF OF NORTON WAS WESTBOUND ON HIGHWAY 36.  HE CAME UPON A COW STANDING ALONG THE NORTH SIDE OR THE ROADWAY.  DERAUF WAS UNABLE TO AVOID CONTACT.  DAMAGE WAS LISTED AT OVER 1000 DOLLARS AND DERAUF WAS WEARING HIS SEAT BELT.  THE ACCIDENT OCCURRED AT NINE WEDNESDAY NIGHT SIX MILES WEST OF NORTON, ACCORDING TO THE NORTON COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE REPORT.
