Highway Project

THIS WEEK, A PROJECT TO REPAIR A SECTION OF CONCRETE PAVEMENT ON U.S. 83 HIGHWAY NEAR WEST HALL STREET IS CHANGING THE TRAFFIC PATTERNS THROUGH OBERLIN. KDOT CREWS HAVE STARTED REMOVING A SECTION OF DETERIORATED CONCRETE PAVEMENT NEAR THE INTERSECTION OF U.S. 83 AND HALL STREET IN OBERLIN. AFTER THE CONCRETE PAVEMENT IS REMOVED, CREWS WILL INSPECT AND MAKE NECESSARY REPAIRS TO A DRAINAGE STRUCTURE UNDER THIS SECTION OF PAVEMENT. TEMPORARY REPAIRS HAVE BEEN DONE THE LAST FEW YEARS AT THIS LOCATION. A TRAFFIC LIGHT WILL CONTROL TRAVEL THROUGH THE WORK ZONE ON U.S. 83. ACCESS TO U.S. 83 FROM WEST HALL STREET WILL ALSO BE CLOSED THROUGHOUT THE DURATION OF THE REPAIR. THE PUBLIC SHOULD PLAN THEIR TRAVELS ACCORDINGLY, AS THE TRAFFIC LIGHT WILL CAUSE SLIGHT DELAYS. PAY ATTENTION TO THE SIGNS AND WORKERS WITHIN A ROAD CONSTRUCTION ZONE, AND “GIVE ‘EM A BRAKE!”
A WIDTH RESTRICTION OF 15 FEET; AND A HEIGHT RESTRICTION OF 16 FEET (THROUGH THE WORK ZONE) WILL BE IN PLACE DURING THE PHASING OF THE PROJECT. THIS MAINTENANCE PROJECT WILL BE COMPLETE BY DECEMBER 4, WEATHER PERMITTING.
