Sheridan County Accident

A COLBY MAN WAS INJURED IN A TWO VEHICLE ACCIDENT TUESDAY AFTERNOON IN SHERIDAN COUNTY.  A 1983 INTERNATIONAL TRACTOR PULLING A GRAIN CART, WAS NORTHBOUND ON U.S. 83.  THE TRACTOR WAS DRIVEN BY MORRIS ARNOLD OF COLBY.  A 2004 KENWORTH, DRIVEN BY JOHN BURNS SENIOR OF ROSELAND NEBRASKA WAS BEHIND THE TRACTOR.  THE TRACTOR ATTEMPTED TO MAKE A LEFT TURN INTO THE ROADSIDE PARK.  THE TRUCK ATTEMPTED TO PASS THE TRACTOR, BUT STRUCK IT ON THE SIDE.  THE TRACTOR CAME TO REST ON ITS SIDE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROADWAY ON U.S. HIGHWAY 83.  THE SEMI PROCEEDED INTO THE NORTH DITCH AND STRUCK A TREE.  BOTH MEN WERE TAKEN BY THE SHERIDAN COUNTY HEALTH COMPLEX IN HOXIE.  BURNS WAS WEARING A SEAT BELT, BUT ARNOLD WAS NOT.  THE ACCIDENT OCCURRED AT 12:31 TUESDAY AFTERNOON ABOUT A QUARTER OF A MILE WEST OF SELDEN ON U.S. HIGHWAY 83, ACCORDING TO THE KANSAS HIGHWAY PATROL REPORT.
